EUROPEAN OAK

We chose the perfect species to capture the elegant look that has graced the great interior spaces of Europe along with the resilience that helped these floors survive centuries of wear. Characterized by a creamy white complexion, this extremely hard species derives its name from the Latin word for strength. It grows slowly in France, Germany, and in the other colder regions of Europe to yield a tight, straight grain. Unlike domestic Oak, European Oak logs are cut in a unique way to yield planks with dominant straight grain, a subtle and refined center cathedral grain.
